Course Overview


This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions. Target Group


Applicants will primarily include persons wanting to progress within the Hospitality Industry asopposed to new entrants, however, as this course can be delivered to new entrants, they will not be excluded. This course will initially only be offered as a fee for service course. The key target markets for this qualification are persons situated in Brisbane wanting to gain a Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification via a classroom / workplace delivery model.


Entry Requirements


Be 18 years and above;
• Have satisfactorily completed Year 12 or equivalent; or nonschool-leavers selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies
• All clients with English as a second language satisfy one of the following Englishlanguage proficiency requirements: International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general module - score of 5.5 with no individual score less than 5.0. TOEFL Internet based test minimum score of 46. Pearson Test of English Academic minimum score 42. Cambridge English: Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English) minimum score 162; or a pass in Occupational English Test Certificate.
Those who do not meet the minimum English requirement will need to successfully complete an English program leading to a level of equivalent to the afore mentioned English test scores


Course Duration


This qualification will be delivered over 64 weeks, including 55 weeks of training and assessment spread over 6 terms of 11 weeks and 9 weeks of holidays.Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components, and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills- based assessments in accordance with unit requirements. Course Progress


Note that for international students, satisfactory course progress is required in order to meet visa requirements. Enrolment and Orientation


Upon acceptance of a student’s application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a writtenagreement and tax invoice for remaining fees, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information, as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received. The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements. Training Arrangements


Students are required to attend classes for 20 hours a week and complete approximately 5 hours of homework per week. Timetable information will be provided in the student’s Letter ofOffer and Student agreement. Students may commence this course at the start of any unit.

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals todemonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:

At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must becompleted
